Charlie Connelly

    Charlie Connelly  is a bestselling author and award-winning broadcaster. He is the author of nineteen books, including the bestselling Attention All Shipping: A Journey Round The Shipping Forecast and Last Train to Hilversum: A Journey In Search of the Magic of Radio.   Three of Charlie’s books have been selected as BBC Radio 4 Book of the Week , read by Martin Freeman, Stephen Mangan and Tom Goodman-Hill, while the audio version of Attention All Shipping, read by Alex Jennings, was voted the second-best audiobook of all time in a Guardian/Waterstones poll.   He writes, produces and presents the popular maritime podcast  Coastal Stories , which was BBC Countryfile’s podcast of the month in June 2020 and in the olden days he co-presented three series of Traveller’s Tree for BBC Radio 4 with Fi Glover, was a presenter on the BBC1 Holiday programme and made radio documentaries on subjects ranging from the poetry of Noel Coward to the legendary cricket coach Alfred Gover.
